The problem that is identified in the technical information bulletin that follows does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Early hour failures of the bearings in the rollers in the 2T-0380 Elevator Frame have been reported. An adjustment to the end play for the rollers may increase the service life of the bearings.

This adjustment can be applied to the machines that were manufactured with the 2T-0380 Elevator Frame . Refer to Step 7 of the installation procedure that is in the above listed module. Use a 5 mm (0.2 inch) end play (1) for the adjustment procedure. Do not use the 3 mm (0.12 inch) end play that is stated in the service module. Make adjustments to the washers in order to divide the clearance on both ends of the rollers (2). The adjustment will allow the rollers (2) to slide a maximum length of 5 mm (0.2 inch) on the 8I-1098 Shaft (4).

Check that the elevator frame contains six 0S-1587 Bolts (3). The bolts are coated with black phosphate. Three 0S-1587 Bolts should be on each end of the 8I-1098 Shaft (4) .
Check that the surface under each bolt is not painted. Before you install the bolts, apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to each bolt. Tighten each bolt to a torque of 135 ± 15 N·m (100 ± 11 lb ft).
The 0S-1587 Bolts (3) are offset to the centerline of the shaft. The ends of the shaft are tapered. Because of these two conditions, continue to check the torque on each bolt. Apply the proper torque to each bolt until the bolts do not move.
The changes became effective in production with the following machines.
