Assembly Procedure

1. Apply Tooling (E) to the inside of fan pulley hub (14) .

2. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (18). Use Tooling (D) in order to install bearing cup (18) into fan pulley hub (14) .

3. Apply Tooling (E) to bearing cup (18) .

4. Install spacer (19) .

5. Apply Tooling (E) to bearing cone (20). Install bearing cone (20) .

6. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (17). Use Tooling (D) in order to install bearing cup (17) into fan pulley hub (14) .

7. Apply Tooling (E) to bearing cup (17) .

8. Apply Tooling (E) to bearing cone (16). Install bearing cone (16) .

9. Apply Tooling (E) to lip seal (15). Install lip type seal (15) .

10. Install fan pulley hub (14) into fan pulley (13) .

11. Install Tooling (A) to fan pulley hub (14) and fan pulley (13) .

12. Use a suitable press in order to install shaft (6) into bracket assembly (1) .

13. Apply Tooling (C) to the outside diameter of bearings (12) and the inside diameter of idler pulley assembly (4) .

14. Install bearings (12) into idler pulley assembly (4) .

    Note: Dimension (X) must be 1.00 ± 0.50 mm (0.039 ± 0.020 inch) for both bearings (12) .

15. Position belt tensioner (9) to bracket assembly (1). Install washer (10) and bolt (11) .

16. Install shaft (3) to bracket assembly (1) .

17. Install spring pin (2) to bracket assembly (1) and shaft (3) .

    Note: Dimension (Y) must be no more than 2.00 mm (0.079 inch).

18. Install idler pulley assembly (4) to shaft (3) .

19. Use Tooling (B) in order to install retaining ring (5) to shaft (3) .

20. Install spring pin (8) to shaft (6) .

21. Install spacer (7) to shaft (6) .

End By: Install the fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Install".
