Start By:
- Partially tilt the cab. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cab - Tilt".
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the removal procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

NOTICE |
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin. Be sure that the engine and components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand prior to performing any service work. |

- Disconnect hoses (1) and hose assemblies (2) .
- Use suitable bolts and the existing clamps in order to plug hoses (1) .
- Lower the cab.

- Install bolts (3). Repeat for the opposite side.
- Remove the hydraulic tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Tank - Remove".

- Open the door on the right hand side of the machine and disconnect harness assemblies (4) .

- Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to cab (5). The weight of cab (5) is approximately 1361 kg (3000 lb).

- Position guard (6) out of the way. Disconnect ground strap (7) .

- Remove bolts (3). Repeat for the opposite side.

- Apply slight lifting tension to the cab. Remove bolts (12), retainer (11), pin (10), washer (9), and spacer (8). Repeat for the opposite side.
Note: Note the location of all washers for assembly purposes.

- Remove cab (5) .

- Disconnect tube assemblies (15) and connectors (16) .

- Disconnect clamp (17) and tube assemblies (18). Disconnect hose assemblies (19), (20), and (21) .

- Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to main control valve (22) and the loader arms. Also, attach a suitable lifting device to the rear of main control valve (22). The weight of main control valve (22) is approximately 159 kg (350 lb). Remove bolts (23) and main control valve (22) .
