Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install

Usage:

904B B4L

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the seat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Seat - Remove".

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes. This helps prevent fluid loss and contamination of the oil system.

  1. Open the access door on the left side of the machine.

  1. Move the rubber terminal covers and disconnect the battery cables on the battery. Move the battery cables away from the terminals.

    Note: This machine does not have a battery disconnect switch.

  1. Disconnect cable assembly (1). Disconnect harness assembly (2) from electric starting motor (3). This step is performed from the side of the machine.

  1. Remove nut (4) from the top of electric starting motor (3). This step must be performed inside the cab.

  1. Remove nut (5) from the bottom of electric starting motor (3). Remove electric starting motor (3) from the bottom of the machine.

Installation Procedure

  1. Place the electric starting motor into position on the studs. The electric starting motor must be installed under the machine.

  1. Install nut (5) onto the bottom of electric starting motor (3) .

  1. Install nut (4) onto the top of electric starting motor (3). This step must be performed inside the cab.

  1. Connect cable assembly (1). Connect harness assembly (2) onto electric starting motor (3). This step is performed from the side of the machine.

  1. Connect the battery cables on the battery. Move the rubber terminal covers onto the terminals.

    Note: This machine does not have a battery disconnect switch.

  1. Close the access door on the left side of the machine.

End By: Install the seat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Seat - Install".
