Over Fueling Spring No Longer Used In Governor{1264,1250}

Usage:

3406B Truck, Industrial, Marine, Generator Set and Vehicular Engines

Description of Change: Tests have shown that the 7N7267 Over Fueling Spring used in the governor on the above engines is not required. See the illustration. The tests also indicate that, in the above engines, the over fueling spring can decrease the engine's ability to start in cold weather.

Adaptable To: The 7N7267 Over Fueling Spring is no longer included in the fuel injection pump groups used on the above engines. The change is in effect with Fuel Injection Pump Serial No. 30148.

The 7N7267 Over Fueling Spring should be removed from earlier fuel injection pump groups used on the above engines if cold weather starting is a problem.

NOTE: To start an engine when the over fueling spring is removed, the operator should push the accelerator pedal to the floor while cranking, then release the accelerator pedal when the engine begins to run.
