Tighten Bolts To Correct Torque In 3161 Governor{1264}
Usage:
All 3500 Series Engines So Equipped
Two different torque specifications are used for the 1/4"-20 thread bolts in 3161 Governors. The 1/4"-20 bolt used in the clamp on the speed setting lever should be tightened to 12 ± 1 N·m (110 ± 11 lb in).
The rest of the 1/4"-20 bolts in the governor should be tightened to 10 ± 1 N·m (90 ± 9 lb in). If these torques are exceeded, it is possible for the threads to strip out after the bolts have been tightened several times.
