Stopping the Engine

Usage:

525C 525

NOTICE

Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.

Refer to the following procedure, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger housing (if equipped), which could cause oil coking problems.

  1. While the machine is stopped, operate the engine for five minutes at low idle. This allows hot areas in the engine to cool gradually. Also, this will allow the turbocharger shaft to slow down.
