This diagnostic code is associated with the upgrade of the firmware.
The version of the firmware is lower than 1.5.
System Response:
When this fault occurs, the values for the hours will be set to default values.
Test Step 1. VERIFY THE FIRMWARE VERSION
Verify that the firmware version is 1.5 or greater.
- Inside the "Diagnostics" menu, toggle either the right mast elevation/menu scroll switch or the left mast elevation/menu scroll switch until Software Versions is highlighted on the display.
- Press the OK/right reset button.
A menu similar to Illustration 1 appears for a Dual Mast system.
Note: The Single Mast system will not show duplicate devices.
The information shown in the "Software Versions" menu includes the following items:
The devices that are connected.
The arrow showing whether the device is the left or right device. A "0" means that the device is neither left nor right.
The version of application software for each device
The version of loader software for each device

- Press the OK/right reset button in order to return to the "Diagnostics" menu.
- Turn the power/setup switch to the ON position in order to return to the "Guidance" mode.
Expected Result:
The Firmware version is 1.5 or greater.
Results:
- OK - The Firmware version is 1.5 or greater.
Repair: If problem continues contact your dealership's Technical Communicator for a possible consultation with Caterpillar.
Stop.
- NOT OK - The Firmware version is not 1.5 or greater.
Repair: Refer to Troubleshooting, "Module - Flash Program" in order update the firmware. Recalibrate the valves after updating the firmware.
Stop.
