Continuity Test
- Put the multimeter on the 200 ohm resistance (Ohms) scale. Touch the meter leads between terminal (10) and brush (12). then touch the meter leads, between terminal (11) and brush (13) .
- Each meter reading should be .1 to .5 ohms. If the resistance is not correct the brush assembly is open and must be replaced.
Ground Test
- Put the multimeter on the 20 ohm resistance (Ohms) scale. Touch the meter leads between terminal (11) and brush (12) and then frame (9) .
- Each reading should be 100,000 ohms or greater (meter reading 0.10 or greater).
- If the meter reading is low, the brush assembly is grounded and must be replaced.
