Off (middle)     closed     closed
Test/Enable (down)     closed     open

The TCS Test/Enable switch has three positions. The switch is an input to the TCS ECM. The switch is located in the operator's compartment on the right console. The three positions that the switch can be set to are as follows:

  • Enable (low gain)

  • Off

  • Test (high gain)

When the switch is in the ENABLE (low gain) position, the system is ON and will operate in a low gain setting. When operating in the low gain position TCS does NOT react as harshly to the operating conditions.

When the switch is in the OFF position, TCS ECM is turned OFF and the system does NOT operate.

When the switch is put in the TEST (high gain) position, the operator has a short period of time (about five seconds) to check the TCS to see if it is operating properly. This is done by steering into a turn immediately after the switch is put into the TEST position. The brakes of the wheels on the outside turn radius will come on. When the test period is over and the switch hasn't been moved, TCS will go to a high gain operator setting. This position is more sensitive to the operating conditions and TCS will react faster to the operating conditions. TCS will not go into TEST mode again until the switch has been put into the OFF positon and back to the TEST position.

Note: When the switch is in the ENABLE or the TEST position the power indicator for the TCS located on the switch will illuminate.

Note: The TCS will not operate if a critical fault is detected in the system. The Power indicator will not be on in this situation.
