Installation Procedure

1. This procedure continues the installation of the cylinder head which began in Disassembly and Assembly, RENR1223, "3176C/3196 Engine", "Cylinder Head - Install".

2. Install mounting bolt (11) for the dipstick, mounting bracket (12) for the high speed oil change arrangement, and bracket (13) for the coolant line by installing the necessary bolts.

3. Replace the mounting bracket and fuel filter assembly (10) to the original location. Install bolts (9). Connect fuel line (8). Install vent (7) and tighten clamp (6).

4. Install tube assembly (5) .

5. Install bottom aftercooler housing (4). Install bolts (3).

6. Install clips (not shown) that hold the sensor wire to the valve cover base.

7. Connect electrical connector (1) and electrical connector (2) to the sensors in the aftercooler base.

End By:

1. Install the aftercooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler - Remove and Install" for the proper procedure.
2. Install the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove" for the proper procedure.
3. Install the oil filter and the base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter and Base - Remove and Install" for the proper procedure.
4. Install the fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Remove" for the proper procedure.
5. Install the refrigerant condenser. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Refrigerant Condenser - Remove and Install" for the proper procedure.
6. Install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood and Exhaust Ejector - Remove and Install" for the proper procedure.
