950F Wheel Loader and 950F Series II Wheel Loader Hydraulic System Caterpillar

Implement Cycle Time - Check

Usage:

950F II 2LM
Start the engine and run the engine at high idle. Move the lift arms repeatedly in order to warm the hydraulic oil.

The hydraulic oil (SAE 10W) must be at a temperature of 65° ± 3°C (150° ± 5°F) in order to obtain accurate results.

Note: Perform all cycle time tests with the engine at high idle. If the machine is equipped with the optional ride control system, place the ride control switch in the OFF position.

The times in the following tables are for a machine with a general purpose bucket.

Table 1
Cycle Time for Lift Cylinders     Model     Time
RAISE from ground to lift kickouts (empty bucket)     950F/950F Series II     6.6 ± 0.4 seconds

Note: When you perform the cycle time tests for the tilt circuit, the lift arms must be raised to the maximum height.

Table 2
Cycle Time for Tilt Cylinder     Time
DUMP from full tilt back position to full dump position (empty bucket at maximum height)     2.2 ± 0.4 seconds

If the travel times are not correct, check the following conditions:

  1. Check the implement pump flow.

  1. Check the settings of the relief valves.

  1. Check the makeup valves in the lift control valve and in the tilt control valve.

  1. Check the valve spools in the lift control valve and in the tilt control valve.

  1. Check the piston seals in the cylinders.
