This diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM detects a option code that is not valid. When the ECM is turned ON, the ECM looks at the option code input. If the input does not represent a valid option code, this diagnostic code is recorded. The options code plug tells the ECM the options that are on the machine.
The possible causes for this diagnostic code are listed:
- The wrong options code plug is installed.
- One or more connections in the options code plug that should be shorted to ground are open.
- One or more connections in the options code plug that should be open are shorted to ground.
System Response:
The machine response is listed:
- The implement will only have the lift function and no features.
Note: Ensure that the diagnostic code is active and that the diagnostic code indicator is active.
Test Step 1. CHECK THE OPTION CODE.
- Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect the harness from the implement ECM.
- At the harness connector contacts J1-30, 31, 32, 33 and 36 for the ECM, check for the proper option code.
- The option code is listed in the configuration table on the Electrical System Schematic for the machine that is being serviced.
Expected Result:
The option code is correct.
Results:
- YES - The option code is correct.
Repair: The option code is correct. The circuitry for the option code is correct. Inspect the contacts of the harness connector. Connect the harness to the ECM. Clear the diagnostic code. Turn the key start switch OFF. Then turn the key start switch ON in order to recheck the ECM. If the same diagnostic code is active, replace the ECM. See Testing And Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".
Stop.
- NO - The option code is NOT correct.
Repair: The circuitry for the option code has failed. Repair the option code or replace the harness.
Stop.
