(1) Spring. (2) Nut. (3) Jam nut. (4) Jam nut. (5) Nut. (X) Dimension. (Y) Dimension.

  • Use two nuts (2) and (3) to adjust spring (1) to dimension (X). Dimension (X) equals 100.0 ± 1.0 mm (3.94 ± .04 inch).

    1. Adjust two nuts (4) and (5) to dimension (Y). Dimension (Y) equals 149.0 ± 1.0 mm (5.87 ± .04 inch).

      Service Brake Control

      (8) Mounting plate. (Z) Dimension.

    1. Rotate nut (5) until washer (7) is dimension (Z) from mounting plate (8). Dimension (Z) equals 26.0 mm (1.024 inch).

    1. Tighten jam nuts (3) and (4) .

    1. Check the pressure in the service brake system.

Reference: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Service Brake System Pressure - Test" for the proper procedure.

    1. If the pressure is too low, use two nuts (4) and (5) to lengthen the valve linkage and check the pressure again.

Note: Rotate nut (5) clockwise in order to increase the length.

      (2) Nut. (3) Jam nut. (5) Nut. (9) Rod. (10) Yoke.

    1. Rod (9) and yoke (10) should be in contact until the brake system pressure reaches 6900 kPa (1000 psi). If a gap forms between rod (9) and yoke (10) before 6900 kPa (1000 psi), use nuts (2) and (3) to decrease the spring length. Recheck the rod movement and the brake system pressure.

Note: Rotate nut (5) clockwise in order to increase the length.
