Assembly Procedure
Note: Ensure that all of the oil holes in the rocker shaft and in the rocker arms are not plugged before you begin the assembly procedure.
- Lubricate all of the components with clean engine oil before assembly.
- Install the connection for the oil supply (9) and bolt (10) on rocker shaft (7) .
Note: Ensure that the bolt and the connection for the oil supply are correctly positioned on the rocker shaft.

- Install rocker arm bushing (6) in rocker arm assembly (3) with a suitable press.
Note: The clearance between the rocker arm bushing and the rocker shaft is 0.03 to 0.09 mm (0.001 to 0.004 inch). It may be necessary to ream the bushing to the correct clearance in order to fit the bushing to the rocker shaft.
- Install each of the components in the correct order onto rocker shaft (7). See Illustration 1.
- Install retaining ring (1).
