  1. Start the engine. Allow the air pressure to reach operating pressure.

  1. Move the control knob for the parking brake to the OFF position. Stop the engine.

Note: If air pressure is not available, loosen locknut (5). Turn nut (4) and rod (6) until nut (4) makes contact with parking brake actuator (3). Continue to rotate nut (4) so rod (6) moves into parking brake actuator (3). This will fully release the parking brake.

  1. Remove the cotter and pin (9) .

  1. Push the end of lever (10) away from parking brake actuator (3) until brake linings (2) come into contact with brake drum (1) .

  1. Loosen locknut (7). Rotate rod end (8) on threaded rod (6) until the holes in rod end (8) and lever (10) are aligned. Rotate rod end (8) by one turn toward parking brake actuator (3). Insert pin (9) and the cotter. Tighten locknut (7) .

Note: The parking brake is adjusted correctly if the machine cannot be moved in second speed forward with the engine at high idle.

Note: Brake drum (1) must be free to rotate when the parking brake is released.
