994D Wheel Loader Machine System Caterpillar

Lubrication Pump (Automatic) - Remove and Install

Usage:

994D 3TZ

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Install the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
  2. Connect the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Frame Lock Link - Separate and Connect".
  3. Purge the air system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air System Pressure - Purge/Charge".

Note: Install caps and plugs on all openings in order to prevent dirt or debris from entering the system. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Note: For easier assembly, mark all hose assemblies, tube assemblies, wire harnesses and cables for identification purposes.

  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Open the door assembly to the lubrication pump on the left side of the platform.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to lubrication pump (15). Attach the suitable lifting device to a hoist.

  1. Remove 15 bolts (16) and the washers that secure lubrication pump (15) to the platform.

  1. Remove lubrication pump (15) from the platform. The weight of the lubrication pump is 29 kg (64 lb).

Installation Procedure

Note: Verify that all of the components of the lubrication pump are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.

Note: Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary. Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
