Installation Procedure

Note: Verify that all of the components of the gear pump are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.

Note: Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary. Lubricate O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

1. Attach a suitable lifting sling around gear pump (6) for the power train. Secure the suitable lifting sling to a hoist. Position gear pump (6) and the gasket to the torque converter housing. Install eleven bolts (7) that secure gear pump (6) to the torque converter housing. The weight of gear pump (6) is 48 kg (105 lb).

2. Connect hose assembly (5), (4), and (3) to gear pump (6) .

The location of the clamp is near the diverter valve.

3. Position clamp (2) to hose assembly (3). Connect clamp (2) to hose assembly (3) that supplies oil to the gear pump for the power train.

4. Install drain plug (1) to the torque converter. Check the oil level of the transmission oil. If necessary, fill the transmission oil.

5. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Transmission Oil Level Check". Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the appropriate oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" for the appropriate oil capacity.

6. After the machine idles for two minutes, recheck the oil level of the transmission oil. If necessary, fill the transmission oil.

End By:

1. Separate the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Frame Lock Link - Separate and Connect".
2. Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
