611 Wheel Tractor-Scraper Machine Systems Caterpillar

Removal Procedure

1. Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from moving.

2. Remove cotter pin (1) that secures pin (2) to yoke rod end (3) and parking brake lever (4). Remove pin (2) that secures yoke rod end (3) to parking brake lever (4). Separate yoke rod end (3) from parking brake lever (4) .

Pressurized air can cause personal injury. The air supply lines are pressurized to 830 kPa (120 psi). Purge the air from the system before performing any maintenance to the air system.

3. Purge the air from the air tanks.

4. Disconnect hose assembly (5) from parking brake chamber (6). Remove two nuts (7) and the washers that secure parking brake chamber (6) to the machine. Remove parking brake chamber (6) from the machine.
