Change Made To FT1535 Idler Bearing Puller{0621,4167}

Usage:

Caterpillar Track-Type Tractors And Track-Type Loaders

A part number chart for bolts and the maximum allowable working load are now part of the FT1535 Idler Bearing Puller. This puller can be used for removal of the bearings from idlers that do not have good access to the bushing bolts.

The operator is provided information on the maximum amount of force that is to be used with the FT1535 Puller. The notice on the FT1535 Puller drawing reads as follows:

NOTICE

"Maximum allowable working load 310 kN (35 tons)."

The bolt chart gives the part numbers of bolts that are to be used to fasten the FT1535 Puller to the bearing block. The chart also has the model, quantity, and the hole position for these bolts. The chart reads as follows:

NOTE: If the FT1535 Puller is used with bolts other than those shown in the chart, the maximum allowable working load will not be known.

Most roller/idler press machines have a relief valve that can be adjusted to control the maximum pressure or load used by the machine. This relief valve must be adjusted to permit a maximum working load of 310 kN (35 tons). The FT1535 Puller must not be used on machines that do not have a relief valve which can be adjusted, if the maximum capacity of the machine is more than 310 kN (35 tons).

The maximum working load and the part number chart should be put on all FT1535 Pullers. This includes all FT1535 Pullers currently in use. The FT1535 Drawing (Change 2) shows the changes. This drawing is available from your Division Service Manager.
