Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the floor cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Floor Cylinder - Remove and Install". The information is in this manual.
2. Remove the ejector cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Ejector Cylinder - Remove and Install". The information is in this manual.

1. Remove four bolts (1) from cover (2) . Tilt cover (2) downward.

2. Place a suitable lifting device under the floor link. Remove two bolts (3) and bar (4) from bracket (5) . Use a hammer and a brass rod to remove pin (6) from bracket (5) . Carefully lower and slowly lower the floor link to the ground.

3. Attach a nylon lifting strap and a hoist to the dump arm. Remove two bolts (7) and bar (8) from bracket (9) . Use a hammer and a brass rod to remove pin (10) from bracket (9) . Repeat the procedure for the other side of the dump arm. Remove the dump arm from the scraper bowl. The dump arm weighs 135 kg (298 lb) .

Installation Procedure

1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Install the dump arm to the scraper bowl. The dump arm weighs 135 kg (298 lb). Use a soft faced hammer to install pin (10) to bracket (9) . Install bar (8) and two bolts (7) to bracket (9) . Repeat the procedure for the other side of the dump arm. Remove the tooling from the dump arm.

3. Use a suitable lifting device to carefully raise and slowly raise the floor link. Position the floor link to the bracket. Use a soft faced hammer to install pin (6) to bracket (5) . Install bar (4) and two bolts (3) to bracket (5) . Remove the tooling from the floor link.

4. Tilt cover (2) upward. Install four bolts (1) to cover (2) .
