613C Series II Wheel Tractor-Scraper Machine Systems Caterpillar

Assembly Procedure

1. Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Install felt wiper seal (21) and spring (22) to seal carrier (10) . Install shaft (17) and cup seal (20) to piston assembly (18) . Install O-ring seal (19) to shaft (17) .

3. Connect seal carrier (10) to piston assembly (18) . Install two nuts (16) to shaft (17) . Torque two nuts to 27 ± 3 N·m (20 ± 2 lb ft) .

4. Install O-ring seal (14) and two vee seals (15) to retainer (6) .

5. Install valve seal (13) to retainer valve (9) .

6. Install ring seal (11) and vee seal (12) to piston (8) .

7. Install spring (5) , retainer (6) , retaining ring (7) , retainer valve (9) and piston (8) to seal carrier (10) .

8. Compress spring (5) and hold retainer (6) , as shown. Use Tool (A) to install retaining ring (7) to piston (8) .

9. Compress spring (5) in order to install retainer (6) to body (3) . Torque retainer (6) to 41 ± 13 N·m (30 ± 10 lb ft) .

10. Connect cylinder (2) to body (3) . Install six nuts (1) to cylinder (2) . Torque six nuts (1) to 15 ± 3 N·m (11 ± 2 lb ft). Install overstroke switch (4) to body (3) . Torque overstroke switch (4) to 8 ± 3 N·m (6 ± 2 lb ft) .
