Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the main control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Control Valve - Remove".

1. Remove lever housing (1) from the main control valve.

2. Remove cover (2), the gasket and the O-ring seal from lever housing (1).

3. Loosen the bolt that holds lever (4) to the shaft. Remove shaft (5) and lever (3). Remove lever (4) from the lever housing.

4. Remove lever (3) from shaft (5). Remove the keys from shaft (5).

5. Remove seal (6) from lever housing (1).

6. Use Tooling (A) to remove bearing (7) from lever housing (1).

7. Remove bearing (8) from lever housing (1).

8. Remove housing (9) from the main control valve.

9. Remove plug (10), spring (11), seat (12) and ball (13) from each side of housing (9). Remove the O-ring seal from each plug (10).

10. Remove valve stem (14) from the main control valve.

11. Remove bolt (19), retainer (18), spring (17), retainer (16) and washer (15) from valve stem (14).

12. Remove plug (20), spring (22) and valve (23) from the main control valve. Remove O-ring seal (21) from plug (20).

13. Remove cover (28), seat (27), O-ring seal (26), spring (25) and valve spool (24) from the main control valve.

14. Remove plug (31), the shims, spring (30) and valve (29) from cover (28). Remove the O-ring seal from cover (28).

15. Remove cover (35), spring (34), retainer (33) and valve stem (32) from the main control valve.

16. Remove fitting (36) from cover (35). Remove the O-ring seals from cover (35) and from fitting (36).

17. Remove cover (38), spring (39) and retainer (40) from the main control valve.

18. Remove fitting (37) from cover (38). Remove the O-ring seals from cover (38) and from fitting (37).

19. Remove cover (47), seat (43), spring (42) and valve spool (41) from the main control valve.

20. Remove plug (48), shims (46), spring (45) and valve (44) from cover (47).

21. Remove the O-ring seals from seat (43), from cover (47) and from plug (48).
