NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Note: Check the condition of all seals and of all components. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install the bearings in cover (1) with tooling (A). Install the bearings until the bearings are 3.1 mm (0.12 inch) below the machined surface of the cover.

Install the bearings in the body assembly with tooling (A). Install the bearings until the bearings are 3.0 mm (0.12 inch) below the inside surface of the body assembly.

Put the ring on the shaft. Install key (2) and gear (4). Install ring (3) .

Assemble the other shaft. Follow Step 9 in order to assemble the shaft.

Put clean SAE 30 oil on the parts of the scavenge pump that is for the torque divider.

Install the shaft and the gear in the body.

Install the shaft and gear (5) in cover (1) .

Put bolts (6) and locks in the body.

Heat gear (7) to a maximum temperature of 149°C (300°F). Install the gear on the shaft.

Put the body on cover (1). Tighten bolts (6) and bend the locks over the bolts. Install nut (8) and the washer. Tighten the nut to torque of 55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft).

Note: The pump must turn freely by hand after the scavenge pump is assembled.

End By: Install the scavenge pump that is for the torque divider. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Divider Scavenge Oil Pump - Remove and Install".
