Usage:
The new 6V6190 Gauge Group is available as a replacement for the former 6V12 Depth Gauge. This new gauge can be used to measure track roller and track link wear, the same as the former gauge. The new gauge has more probe hole locations, which will permit more accurate indications of wear. A decal on the 6V6190 Gauge has the number location of the probe holes and shows which holes are to be used to check the rollers. The depth probes are wider on one end so they will not fall out when the screws are loosened. Also, the screws in the new gauge are made of nylon and can be tightened with your fingers. Formerly, it was necessary to use a hexagonal wrench to tighten the screws.
The 6V6190 Gauge Group can be used to check track roller and track idler wear on all Caterpillar track-type machines. The components of the new group which are available for parts service are shown in the chart.
