Transmission Direction Selector - Rotate control (1) in order to change the direction of the machine.

Forward - Press the top of control (1) in order to move the machine into FORWARD.

Reverse - Press the bottom of control (1) in order to move the machine into REVERSE.

Neutral - Align the marks on control (1) in order to select NEUTRAL.

Transmission Electronic Control - Depress the switches in order to change gears.

Upshift - Make transmission upshifts from first gear to second second gear to third gear by depressing upshift switch (2).

Downshift - Press the downshift switch (3) in order to downshift the transmission to second gear. Press the downshift switch again in order to downshift the transmission to first gear.

Transmission Shifting

Automatic Modes

Illustration 2g00945179

Automatic Modes provide the following benefits:

  • Easier upshifts and downshifts

  • Reduced operator fatigue and shortened cycle times

Auto Shift Bidirectional Mode - The operator presets a FORWARD or REVERSE gear for directional changes.

"Transmission Autoshift − Bidirectional Mode" - First Gear Forward to Second Reverse Directional Shift Mode

Push the switch (4) once for the bidirectional shift function (autoshift). The current mode of operation is shown by the light (5). For the best results, change the options with the transmission in NEUTRAL.

  • A directional shift to the FORWARD position will always shift to first gear.

  • A directional shift to the REVERSE position will always shift to second gear.

  • This shift allows the FIRST GEAR FORWARD position to change to the SECOND GEAR REVERSE position.

Auto Kickdown - The transmission automatically downshifts under significant loads.

"Transmission − Auto Kickdown Mode" - The auto kickdown automatically downshifts the transmission from second gear forward to first gear forward when a significant increase in load is detected.

Push switch (7) for auto kickdown operation. The current mode of operation is shown by light (6).

  • The auto kickdown mode is advantageous for machines that operate in rough applications.

  • The auto kickdown can improve the productivity of an inexperienced operator.

Manual Mode

If the autoshift function is not desired, the machine can be operated in the manual mode. When the machine is started, the machine is in the manual mode. No lights for the automatic modes are illuminated.

Speed shifting is manual. Use switch (2) to upshift or use switch (3) to downshift.

  • When the transmission is in the NEUTRAL position, the display for the transmission indicates "N".

  • If you depress switch (2) or switch (3) for speed shifts in the NEUTRAL position, you must use caution. This places the transmission in that speed when the transmission direction selector is engaged. Uncertain movements or harsh machine movements may occur.
