SUBJECT: PROPER ASSEMBLY OF THE FAN DRIVE PUMP INCREASES
PERFORMANCE AND LENGTHENS SERVICE LIFE

PROBLEM:

The gear pump that drives the hydraulic oil cooler/radiator cooling fan can fail. The gear that is mounted on the end of the input shaft of this pump can be assembled incorrectly. If this gear is assembled incorrectly the thrust to the end of the pump shaft will provide an internal leak path in the pump and accelerated wear of the components.

SOLUTION:

If your machine exhibits symptoms of pump failure, the pump should be removed from the engine, examined for unusual wear and
re-assembled in a correct manner.

If the cooling system fan exhibits symptoms of pump failure, the pump should be removed from the engine, examined for unusual wear and re-assembled in a correct manner.
