Bolts For New Cab Mounts Are Too Long

Usage:

WHEEL LOADERS980G (9CM, 2KR1-1494) WHEEL LOADERS

Reference: Service Magazine, October 20, 1997, Page 9; "New Cab Mounts Reduce Operator Compartment Vibration".

Service Manual Module, SENR5885-01,; Disassembly & Assembly, 980G Wheel Loader Machine Systems; Page 26, "Remove & Install Cab".

Problem:

The bolts that are specified in the Service Magazine above are too long for the new cab mounts. The extra length of the bolts is causing them to bottom out in the hole.

The Service Manual Module referenced above incorrectly specifies the torque value of the cab mount bolts.

Solution:

Add one additional 9U-0512 Washer to each of the four cab mount bolts in order to compensate for the extra length.

On Page 29 of the Service Manual Module referenced above, change the torque value in Step 12 from 425 ± 50 N·m (315 ± 37 lb ft) to 850 ± 100 N·m (625 ± 74 lb ft).
