Reference: Service Manual Module, SENR6793-01, Testing and Adjusting 938G Wheel Loader and IT38G Integrated Toolcarrier Braking System; Page 24, "Parking Brake Limit Switch - Adjust". This module is found in Service Manual, SENR6780, 938G Wheel Loader IT38G Integrated Toolcarrier, Volume II.

Problem:

Some transmissions may unexpectedly neutralize on 938G Wheel Loaders or IT38G Integrated Toolcarriers while operating the machine.

Solution:

Determine the root cause of the failure with the use of the Caterpillar Electronic Technician. Observe the "Events Logged" data and determine if the logged fault code, 627-Machine Driven with Parking Brake On, has occurred. If this has occurred, adjust the parking brake limit switch according to the Reference.

Another logged fault code, MID 81, CID 668, FMI 02 may have occurred. If this has occurred, clear the fault codes and return the machine to service.
