Description of Change: A new drive shaft has replaced the former drive shaft for the listed machines. The new drive shafts design provides for supplier commonality among products and provides improved assembly for manufacturing.
Adaptable To: The new 171-0281 Drive Shaft Group replaces the former 6S-6040 Drive Shaft Assembly. The effective group and part numbers are identified in Tables 1 and 2. The former 6S-6040 Drive Shaft Assembly has been canceled.
The new 171-2081 Drive Shaft Group is adaptable to the D3C SERIES III machines reworked per the referenced Service Magazine article and to all D4C Machines.
