Fuel Cooler - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Loosen clamps (1) and disconnect hose (2).

  2. Loosen clamps (12) and disconnect hose (13).

  3. Remove bolt (6) and the clip from bracket assembly (7).

  4. Disconnect tube assembly (3).

  5. Disconnect tube assembly (5).

  6. Remove bolts (10). Remove fuel cooler (9). Remove clips (4) and the grommets from the fuel cooler.

  7. Remove bolts (8) and bracket (11) from the cylinder block.

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Position bracket (11) on the cylinder block and install bolts (8).

  2. Install the grommets and clips (4) on fuel cooler (9). Position the fuel cooler on the bracket and install bolts (10).

  3. Install the grommets and clips (4) on the fuel cooler. Position fuel cooler (9) and install bolts (10).

  4. Connect tube assembly (5).

  5. Connect tube assembly (3). Install the clip and bolt (6) on bracket assembly (7).

  6. Connect hose (13). Tighten clamps (12).

  7. Connect hose (2). Tighten clamps (1).
