NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install Tooling (A) in the cylinder block.

  2. Install gasket (8) and oil cooler core assembly (7) on Tooling (A).

  3. Install gasket (4) and engine oil filter base (1) on Tooling (A). Install bolts (2) finger tight.

  4. Remove Tooling (A) and install remaining bolts (2) finger tight.

  5. Tighten bolts (2) in a numerical sequence to a torque of 35 ± 8 N·m (26 ± 6 lb ft).

  6. Install tube assembly (5) and tube assembly (6). Install the clamps and tighten the nuts to a torque of 30 ± 7 N·m (22 ± 5 lb ft).

  7. Connect tube assembly (3).

  8. Fill the lubrication system with engine oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" for the lubrication system capacity of the engine.

End By:

  1. Install the marine transmission oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Marine Transmission Oil Cooler - Remove and Install".

  2. Install the heat exchanger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Heat Exchanger - Install".
