Engine Oil Cooler - Remove

Usage:

C9 C9A

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the heat exchanger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Heat Exchanger - Remove".

  2. Remove the marine transmission oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly , "Marine Transmission Oil Cooler - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove tube assembly (5) and tube assembly (6).

  2. Disconnect tube assembly (3).

  3. Remove bolts (2).

  4. Remove engine oil filter base (1). Remove gasket (4) from the engine oil filter base.

  5. Remove oil cooler core assembly (7) from the cylinder block. Remove gasket (8) from the oil cooler core assembly.
