Inlet and Exhaust Valve Seat Inserts - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove intake and exhaust valves.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install Tooling (C) in the inlet valve seat inserts and the exhaust valve seat inserts.

  1. Install Tooling (B) and Tooling (A) in Tooling (C) . Hand tighten Tooling (A) . Tooling (C) will expand below the edge of the valve seat inserts (1) .

  1. Slide Tooling (B) upward, in order to remove the valve seat inserts (1) .

  1. Lower the temperature of the new valve seat inserts (1) . Use Tooling (D) to install the valve seat inserts into the cylinder head.

End By: Install the inlet valves and exhaust valves.
