Flywheel

Usage:

Remove And Install Flywheel

Start By:

a. remove engine

b. remove engine from transmission adapter group

1. Fasten tooling (A) and hoist to flywheel. Remove bolts (1) and remove flywheel. Weight of flywheel is 57 kg (125 lbs.).

2. Remove gear (3) and ring gear (2) from flywheel, if a replacement is necessary.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the flywheel.

3. Heat ring gear (2) to no more than 316° C (600° F), and install on the flywheel with chamfer on teeth toward the starter. Install gear (3) on the flywheel.

4. For easier installation, use two 5/8 - 18 NF guide bolts, (not shown) in crankshaft. Use tooling (A) and a hoist to position the flywheel. With flywheel in position, install bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 205 ± 25 N·m (150 ± 20 lb. ft.). Remove tooling (A).

End By:

a. connect engine to the transmission adapter group

b. install engine
