Description of Change: A new shaft assembly is used in the flexible coupling arrangement of 7271 Marine Transmissions. The shaft is a welded assembly, and the new design changes the location of the welds in comparison with the former shaft assembly. This change in weld location prevents possible stress concentrations, which can cause a failure in some conditions.
Adaptable As: The new 5N5222 Shaft Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 3N8706 Shaft Assembly, which is canceled.
