New Clearance Specifications For Oil Pump Rotor Tip{1304,0374}

Usage:

All 3204 And 3208 Engines

The specifications for oil pump rotor tip clearances have been changed. The specifications shown in the Service Manuals were for the measurement of rotor tip clearance when an inspection fixture was used. These specifications did not make use of the tolerances of the timing gear cover and permitted less clearance. The new specifications, to be used while the components are installed in the timing gear cover, are as follows:

Clearance of oil pump rotor tip (New) ... 0.05 to 0.20 mm (.002 to .008")

Maximum permissible clearance for oil pump rotor tip ... 0.28 mm (.011")

Make a note of this change in the Service Manuals for these engines.
