New Spacer; New Shaft Assembly Permits Pressure Lubrication Of Sun Gear{3304,3307}

Usage:

7251 And 7261 Marine Transmissions

Description of Change: A new shaft assembly is used in the planetary group on the 7251 and 7261 Marine Transmissions. The design of the new shaft assembly permits pressure lubrication of the splines on the shaft and the sun gear.

Also, a new spacer and washers are used in the lower shaft group. The new parts will hold the preload on the sun gear retainer bolt.

Formerly, there have been problems with too much wear of the splines on the former shaft assembly and the sun gear. This has been caused by not enough lubrication and axial movement of the sun gear.

Adaptable As: The new parts are direct replacements for the former parts as shown in the chart. The new parts are in effect with Serial Numbers 74E2405 (7251) and 89B732 (7261).
