Installation Of Additional Clips To The Suspension Group{7218} Caterpillar

Introduction

This publication provides information for the install of additional clips to the 2T2611 Front Suspension Group. The additional clips will help prevent vibration of the tube assemblies.

Do not perform any procedure, outlined in this publication, or order any parts until you read and understand the information contained within.

NOTE: All welds to be E7018 or comparable wire.

1. Remove right tractor fender.

2. Remove one 0S0509 Bolt, two 0S1588 Bolt, three 5M2894 Washer, three 8T1887 Clip, three 8T1888 Clip, one 8T1889 Clip and one 8T1890 Clip.

NOTE: 0S0509 Bolt and 0S1588 Bolt are not reused and may be discarded. All other parts should be retained for reuse.

3. Remove one 28953 Boss.

NOTE: 28953 Boss may be reused if in good condition after removal.

Dimension (A) 84.0 ± 1.0 mm (3.31 ± .04 in), Dimension (B) 60.0 ± 1.0 mm (2.36 ± .04 in), Dimension (C) 70.0 ± 1.0 mm (2.76 ± .04 in).

4. Install two 28953 Boss (7).

NOTE: Weld to be 4 mm (.16 in) fillet weld.

5. Install four 5M2894 Washer (1), four 0S1594 Bolt (2), four 8T1887 Clip (3), four 8T1888 Clip (4), two 8T1889 Clip (5) and two 8T1890 Clip (6).

6. Remove two 0S0509 Bolt, two 6V8398 Seal, one 8T1887 Clip, one 8T1888 Clip, one 8T1889 Clip and one 8T1890 Clip.

NOTE: 0S0509 Bolt is not reused and may be discarded. All other parts should be retained for reuse.

7. Remove one 28953 Boss.

NOTE: 28953 Boss may be reused if in good condition after removal.

Dimension (A) 70.0 ± 1.5 mm (2.76 ± .06 in)

8. Install one 28953 Boss (7).

NOTE: Weld to be 4 mm (.16 in) fillet weld.

9. Install two 5M2894 Washer (1), two 0S1594 Bolt (2), two 8T1887 Clip (3), two 8T1888 Clip (4), two 8T1889 Clip (5) and two 8T1890 Clip (6).

10. Paint areas of installation.

11. Install right tractor fender.
