Usage:
Introduction
The 3P0984 Wiring Harness is available for installation as a service replacement wiring harness on the above listed machines.
When a new 3P0984 Wiring Harness is installed on one of these machines, a 6T1197 Wiring Harness must also be installed, to serve as the connector between the new 3P0984 Wiring Harness and its connecting wiring harness on the machine.
This Special Instruction gives the procedure for the installation and connection of both wiring harnesses.
Do not perform any procedure, outlined in this publication, or order any parts until you read and understand the information contained within.

Installation
Illustration 1.
(1) Original wiring harness. (2) Connecting wiring harness.
1. At the rear of the engine, disconnect original wiring harness (1) from its connecting wiring harness (2). Remove original wiring harness (1) from under the dash panel.
2. Remove (cut off) the wiring connector at the end of connecting wiring harness (2).

3. Refer to both Chart A and Illustration 2, to connect (splice) the wires of 6T1197 Wiring Harness (3) to the wires at the end of connecting harness (2).
4. Connect the wires of 6T1197 Wiring Harness (3) to the end of connecting wiring harness (2). Make these connections at the location where the connector was cut off. (The 6T1197 Wiring Harness is a replacement for the cut off connector.) Make connections as follows.
- * The wires from 6T1197 Wiring Harness (3) must be spliced in place so the pin connections on its connector (4) are connected to the correct wiring harness circuits.
- * Use either the 6V7070 Digital Miltimeter, or a 6V7800 Digital Miltimeter to check for correct circuit connections. Use the multimeter to label or identify each of the six red wires of the 6T1197 Wiring Harness with the color of its corresponding wire, pin or socket connection.

5. Install 3P0984 Wiring Harness (5) as shown, in the location where original wiring harness (1) was positioned.

6. Refer to Chart B and Illustration 4 for the wire and connector pin identification code for 3P0984 Wiring Harness (5). Make all necessary wire connections for 3P0984 Wiring Harness (5).
NOTE: Chart B and Illustration 4 describe the circuit connections for each of the wiring harness connector pins.
7. Connect connector (6) on 3P0984 Wiring Harness connector (5), to connector (4) on 6T1197 Wiring Harness (3).
8. Make certain that all wire connections are secure.
9. Refer to Chart C under the topic "3P0984 Wiring Harness" in this Special Instruction for wire color code, terminal identification information, and the connecting point or circuit for each wire in the 3P0984 Wiring Harness.
3P0984 Wiring Harness
Chart C that follows gives the wire color code, terminal identification information, and the connecting point or circuit for each wire included in the 3P0984 Wiring Harness.
