Fabricating Fiber/Rubber Strips For Radiator Air Baffle Group{7272} Caterpillar

Fabricating Fiber/Rubber Strips For Radiator Air Baffle Group{7272}

Usage:

992C (42X1-Up)

The fiber/rubber strips which are part of the plate assemblies used in the radiator baffle group are not serviceable. During certified rebuilds, the strips on the plate assemblies should be replaced if worn or damaged.

The fiber/rubber strips can be fabricated from 5.00 mm (.197 in) thick milled fiber reinforced rubber belting material. To fabricate the strips, see the illustrations below for the locations, and chart for the required dimensions. After fabrication, use 6B4594 Rivets to fasten the new strips to the plate assemblies.

Do not perform any procedure, outlined in this publication, or order any parts until you read and understand the information contained within.

------ WARNING! ------

Do not attempt to assemble this attachment until you have read and understand the assembly instructions. Improper procedures could result in injury.
