Introduction
Cracking or breaking of torque converter and transfer gear cases on the above models may occur when these machines are operated where severe impact and shock loads are encountered.
General Location of cracking or breaking.
Solution
For machines working where impact or shock loads can be encountered, additional support components can be installed between the frame assembly and the transfer gear case.
These components, which are part of the transmission support group used on 825C and 826C Compactors, are bolted to the transfer gear and to a mounting block that is welded to the frame assembly.
*Components may be adapted to machines if a 7G7140 Transfer Gear Case Assembly (Output) has been installed.
Necessary Parts
4V0368 Block
Location of 4V0368 Block (1).
(A) 8 mm (.31") Fillet Weld - 1.5 mm (.06") Penetration all around.
Installation
1. Install 4V0368 Block (1) as shown. Dimension (B) is 41 ± 1.5 mm (1.61 ± .06") from top of plate to top of block.
Take necessary precautions to protect other components from weld splatter. Remove all weld splatter from around the block.

3. Install the 4V2052 Support Assembly (4), 1H8134 Ring and 4V2048 Pin (5), 4V2050 Link Assembly (3), two 4V2054 Blocks (2), four 1D4610 Bolts (6), two 1D4624 Bolts (7), six 5P8248 Washers (8) and four 7F5227 Bolts (9).
4. Remove the top blocks and remove shims from the 4V2052 Support Assembly (4). Shims were used for machining purposes only. Install 4V2051 Pin (10) in the link assembly. Lower the pin into the bores in bottom block for the support assembly (4).
