Air Inlet and Exhaust Lines

(1) Capscrew

Lubricate the capscrew's threads with 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize .
Torque ... 7 ± 1 N·m (60 ± 9 lb in)

(2) Body

(3) Cover

Apply 4C-9614 Silicone Sealant between the body and the cover of the air shutoff.

(4) Shaft

Lubricate the shaft with 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize .

(5) Capscrew

Lubricate the capscrew's threads with 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize .
Torque ... 8 to 11 N·m (70 to 100 lb in)

(6) Capscrew

Torque ... 8 to 11 N·m (70 to 100 lb in)

(7) Capscrew

Lubricate the capscrew's threads with 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize .
Torque ... 8 to 11 N·m (70 to 100 lb in)

(8) Washer

Use the washers in order to position the switch assembly for proper operation of the air shutoff. The switch assembly must also allow the air shutoff valve to latch upon resetting.

(9) Switch assembly

Lubricate the switch assembly's threads with 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize .

(10) Angle of the exhaust elbow ... 48 to 49 degrees

(11) O-ring seal

Lubricate the bore for the O-ring seals lightly with glycerin.

(12) Bolt

Use the following procedure to install the aftercooler and tighten the bolts:

  1. Install the aftercooler's bottom O-ring seal and temporarily secure the seal with tape. Do not use RTV coating, adhesive, or lubricants. Install the aftercooler's remaining O-ring seals onto the aftercooler. Install the aftercooler onto the inlet air manifold.

  1. Make sure that the aftercooler's bottom O-ring seal is seated correctly. Install the aftercooler's cover. Make sure that the aftercooler's upper O-ring seal is correctly seated in the cover's groove.

  1. Insert the bolts in order to align the cover with the aftercooler and the inlet air manifold. Tighten the bolts in the cover's corner by hand in order to compress the O-ring seals.

  1. Tighten the bolts in the numerical order.

    Torque ... 24 N·m (18 lb ft)

  1. Tighten the bolts again in the numerical order.

    Torque ... 47 N·m (35 lb ft)

  1. Remove the tape.

(13) O-ring seal

Lubricate the bore for the O-ring seals lightly with glycerin.

(14) Pipe nipple

Lubricate the pipe nipple's threads with 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize .

(15) O-ring seal

Lubricate the bore for the O-ring seals lightly with glycerin.
