Rework Procedure
1. Test to determine if the transmission neutralizer is operating:
a. On a level surface away from any obstacles, turn on and warm up the machine engine.
b. Toggle the LCD display to the tachometer mode.
c. With the parking brake on, one foot on the brake pedal and the machine in neutral, press the throttle pedal down fully and record the maximum engine speed.
d. With the parking brake off, one foot on the brake pedal and the machine in 3rd gear forward, press the throttle pedal down fully and record the maximum engine speed.
NOTE: The machine should not move. If the machine moves, consult the Operation And Maintenance Guide to conduct a brake test.
e. Shut off the engine and engage the parking brake.
2. Compare the two maximum engine speeds.
a. If the maximum engine speeds are the same, the transmission is neutralizing.Continue to Step 3 of the rework procedure.
b. If the maximum engine speed of Step D is greater than the maximum engine speed of Step E the transmission is not neutralizing and the machine does not have to be reworked.
3. If the transmission is neutralizing remove the 4 screws holding the right-hand switch panel as indicated in Illustration 1.
4. Group 1 Rework: With the panel removed, look for the 4-pin connector (1075630 Wire Assembly) indicated by Item 1 in Illustration 2.
NOTE: If no jumper plug is attached to the connector, 1075630 Wire Assembly should be plugged into the open connection.
5. Group 2 Rework: Be careful not to mistake the transmission neutralizer plug (Item 1) with the code plug identified as Item 2 in Illustration 2. Both plugs must be present in your 810 Series machine.
NOTE: If only one code plug connection is present in your 810 Series machine, the 1231148 Harness Assembly must be replaced. Order 1231148 (Change 01) Harness Assembly.
6. After installing the 1075630 Code Plug or 1231148 Harness, reassemble the right-hand switch panel.
7. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above to test the machine and insure that the transmission does not neutralize. If any questions or concerns develop contact the Large Wheel Loader Product analyst at (630) 859-5942 or the 800 Series Service Engineer at (630) 859-5752.
