New software for the VIMS needs to be installed on 994 Loaders. The existing software can leave the system inoperable or give inaccurate readings and failure warnings. When installing the new software, an air pressure sensor used to monitor the system air pressure will also need to be changed. The existing sensor is not accurate enough to work correctly with the new softwear.

Action Required
Group 1
The current VIMS air pressure sensor may be inaccurate by 12 to 15 psi. As a result, this can cause the following fault messages to be displayed on the VIMS message center without an actual problem existing:
- AUTOLUBE SOL LO
- CALL SHOP
- SYS AIR PRES LO
- ENG MAY NOT START
- SYS AIR PRES LO
- CALL SHOP
A new more accurate air pressure sensor is available. This sensor requires the use of new VIMS source code and configuration software for the sensor to be read properly by VIMS.
NOTE: This upgrade must also be performed for future VIMS software to be compatible.
Group 2
The current VIMS configuration software has the autolube pressure warning limit set to high. This warning limit is used to determine if the autolube system is reaching a high enough pressure during the lube cycle to discharge grease from the autolube injectors. The current limit is set at 2735 psi. and needs to be set at 2300 psi. As a result, the current configuration software can cause the following message to be displayed in the VIMS message center without an actual problem existing:
- AUTOLUBE SOL LO
- CALL SHOP
- AUTOLUBE LO
- CALL SHOP
New VIMS configuration software is available. This new configuration software requires the use of the new air pressure sensor described in Group 1 above. Replace current 100-4311 VIMS air pressure sensor with the new 141-5746 sensor. The VIMS air pressure sensor is located under the throttle pedal. See Illustration 1. Upload the VIMS source code and configuration software as outlined in the VIMS Service Manual (SENR6059). The VIMS-PC service tool needs to be version 2.3 or higher.
NOTE: This upgrade must also be performed for future VIMS software to be compatible.
