New rod ends with grease fittings are available as service replacement for the rod ends in the exhaust bypass groups on these engines. The new 225-3769 Rod End (RH Thread) and the new 225-3770 Rod End (LH Thread) are available as service replacements. These new rod ends are adaptable to all G3600 applications that are using either the Heinzmann Actuator System or the Hydrax Actuator System.

When these new rod ends are installed in exhaust bypass groups, the new rod ends must be lubricated with Dow Corning 41 Extreme High Temperature Bearing Grease. This grease must be purchased through your local distributor for heavy-duty industrial supplies.
Caterpillar recommends the lubrication of the new rod ends after every 1000 service hours.
