(6) The camshaft lobe lift

To find the lobe lift, use the procedure that follows:

  1. Measure the camshaft lobe height (7).

  2. Measure the base circle (8).

  3. Subtract the base circle measurement in Step 2 from the camshaft lobe height in Step 1. The difference is the actual lobe lift (6).

  4. The specified camshaft lobe lift (6) can be found in Table 1.

The minimum permissible difference between the actual lobe lift in Step 3 and the specified lobe lift in Step 4 is 0.13 mm (0.005 inch).
