Transmission Hydraulic Control Valves

Usage:

Disassemble Transmission Hydraulic Control Valves

start by:

a) remove transmission hydraulic control valves (See DISASSEMBLE TRANSMISSION)

1. Disassemble the pressure control valve as follows:

a) Remove cover (2) and the three O-rings from valve body (1).

b) Remove valve spool (5).

c) Remove piston (3) and the two springs.

d) Remove stop (4), the two springs and the washer.

e) Remove valve spool (6).

f) Remove cover (7) from valve body (1).

g) Remove stop (14) and valve spool assembly (12). Remove slug (13) from valve spool assembly (12).

h) Remove stop (9) and the spring.

j) Remove valve spool (10). Remove slug (11) from valve spool (10).

k) Remove dowel (8) and the stop from valve body (1).

1) Remove ring (20), spacers (15), ring (19), retainer (18), spring (17) and plunger (16) from valve spool assembly (12).

NOTE: Spacers (15) are used for the adjustment of the pressure control valve. Keep these spacers together for installation.

2. Disassemble the selector valve as follows:

a) Remove valve spool (21) and cover (23) from valve body (22).

b) Remove piston (25) and spring (24).

c) Remove the four detent assemblies (28) from the valve body.

d) Remove setscrew (27), setscrew (29) and the lock to remove valve spools (26) from the valve body.

Assemble Transmission Hydraulic Control Valves

1. Assemble the selector valve as follows:

a) Make sure all of the parts of the selector control valve are clean and free of dirt. Put clean SAE 30 oil on the parts of the selector valve.

b) Install speed selector valve spool (1) and directional valve spool (3) in valve body (2) as shown.

c) Install setscrew (4) to hold the speed selector valve spool in position.

d) Make a replacement of the O-ring seals on detent assemblies (5) if necessary. Install the detent assemblies (5).

e) Install setscrew (8) and the lock.

f) Install spring (6) and piston (7) in valve body (2).

g) Install cover (10) and tighten the bolts to a torque of 22 ± 3 lb.ft. (28 ± 4 N·m).

h) Install speed selector valve (9) in the center of valve body (2).

2. Assemble the pressure control valve as follows:

a) Make sure all of the parts of the pressure control valve are clean and free of dirt. Put clean SAE 30 oil on the parts of the pressure control valve.

b) Install plunger (14), spring (15), retainer (16) and ring (17) in valve spool assembly (13). Install spacers (12) and ring (11) on the valve spool assembly.

c) Install the stop and dowel (22) in the valve body.

d) Install stop (19), valve spool (18), slug (20), valve spool assembly (13), slug (23) and stop (21) in the valve body as shown. Install the small cover on the valve body to hold these parts and tighten the bolts to a torque of 22 ± 3 lb.ft. (28 ± 4 N·m).

e) Install valve spool (24) as shown.

f) Install spring (25), spring (27), piston (29), washer (30), spring (26), spring (28), stop (33), spring (31) and valve spool (32) as shown.

g) Install the O-ring seals and cover (34) on the valve body. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 22 ± 3 lb.ft. (28 ± 4 N·m).

3. Make adjustments to the transmission hydraulic controls after the transmission is installed in the machine. See POWER SHIFT TRANSMISSION TESTING AND ADJUSTING.

end by:

a) install transmission hydraulic control valves (See ASSEMBLE TRANSMISSION)
