Note: All new crankshafts are nitrocarburised. The crankshaft can also be nitrided for 20 hours, if the nitrocarburised process is not available. After a crankshaft has been machined, the crankshaft must be rehardened. Inspect the crankshaft for cracks before machining and after machining.
