Note: Lubricate the threads of the locknut (1) with clean grease.

(1) Torque for the locknut ... 6000 ± 500 N·m (4425 ± 369 lb ft)

(A) Bore of the cylinder assembly ... 177.85 ± 0.10 mm (7.002 ± 0.004 inch)

(B) Bore of the head over four lands ... 89.18 ± 0.03 mm (3.511 ± 0.001 inch)

(C) Diameter of the rod ... 88.850 ± 0.038 mm (3.4980 ± 0.0015 inch)

(2) Lubricate the sealing lip of the buffer seal assembly lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(3) Lubricate the sealing lip of the U-cup seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(4) Lubricate the sealing lip of the wiper seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

(5) Apply 4C-4032 Bearing Mount Compound to the wiper seal groove before assembly.

(6) Torque for eight bolts ... 900 ± 100 N·m (664 ± 74 lb ft)
